At this 2nd Cycle hackathon, up to 80 scientists and programmers will get together in Vienna to work in small groups on various topics. 
The topics will be related to the main research themes of the project nextGEMS, i.e. storms and radiation, land, ocean and society, and a wind energy challenge. They will be investigated using the new Cycle 2 simulations performed with IFS and the ICON model.
In order to support young scientists from outside the project, nextGEMS is granting 15 stipends to Master's and PhD students to attend the hackathon. ESiWACE2 is co-sponsoring this event.
