IEEE VIS 2022 in Oklahoma City, USA (16-21 October, 2022)

The hybrid IEEE VIS 2022 conference will start on Sunday 16 October, 2022 in Oklahoma City, USA with a number of associated events, workshops and tutorials.

One such associated event is LDAV, the 12th IEEE Symposium on Large Data Analysis and Visualization, which will see a lightning talk by ESiWACE staff member Nils-Arne Dreier (DKRZ).

In the LDAV session for Early Career Reseachers Nils will speak about progress made and challenges encountered in the work on in-situ visualisation and analysis of very large output data from simulations with a high-resolution version of the global climate model ICON. He will share his experience with in situ access to ICON simulations using the coupler YAC, and he will present two different and promising strategies for:

1. experienced ParaView users, allowing them to create high-quality 3D visualisations of high resolution simulation data
   
   
2. Python-versed domain scientists using analysis and visualisation tools of their choice for in-situ analysis and visualisation
