ESiWACE has participated in the Supercomputing Conference 2016 (SC16) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

At SC16, Jakob Luettgau and Julian Kunkel presented a strategy of modeling and simulation of tape libraries (poster, pdf), which allows for the exploration of new HPC storage concepts for the weather and climate community (see work package 4 of ESiWACE (pdf)).

Be sure to also check out our middleware for earth system data (short paper, pdf) presented at the First International Workshop on Parallel Data Storage and Data Intensive Scalable Computing Systems, held in conjunction with SC16.
