ESiWACE3 will be present, from 10 April until 12 April, at the Ocean Decade Conference 2024 under the booth that the Earth Sciences Department of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) will have at the event as an exhibitor, together with the European projects Climateurope2, RESCUE and EERIE. The Earth Sciences (ES) Department of BSC is the leading institution of the ESiWACE3 Center of Excellence.
Spain will host the 2024 UN Ocean Decade Conference, co-organized with UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/UNESCO). The event will occur at the Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) (Barcelona, Spain) from 10 to 12 April 2024 as part of the Ocean Decade Week (8-12 April). The ES/BSC booth will be number 11, and it will be situated in the Banquet Hall on floor 2.
The Ocean Decade Conference is a global conference that will bring together the Ocean Decade community and partners to celebrate achievements and set joint priorities for the future of the Decade. It will be a 3-day, in-person event co-led with a range of partners: The Government of Catalonia and the Barcelona City Council through the Barcelona Capital Náutica Foundation, and the Spanish National Ocean Decade Committee, which the Ministry of Science and Innovation leads through the Spanish Research Council (CSIC).
Moreover, ESiWACE3’s PI Mario Acosta will participate in the satellite event “Monitoring the Ocean: Panel Discussion and Networking Event" that will be held in the Institut de Ciències del Mar (ICM) on 8 April from 15:00 to 16:30 pm.
