What is your role in ESiWACE?

I lead WP5 on “Data Post-Processing, Analytics and Visualisation”. The aim of the work package is to provide a consistent view for the support of data post-processing, analytics, and visualisation at scale in the weather and climate domain by building the proper extensions and integration on top of the Earth-System Data Middleware (ESDM). I am also involved in WP6 training activities contributing to the organisation of HPDA courses.

What do you appreciate most about your work?

I appreciate that my work gives me the possibility to tackle challenging problems related to extreme-scale data management and analysis, by trying to make efficient use of powerful HPC systems and emerging software technologies.

Which question in climate and weather research interests you the most?

My main interest, as a computer scientist, lies in how to handle the increasing volumes and complexity of climate data. The ultimate goal is to provide scientists with solutions that can enable feature extraction from large-scale data and unlock new scientific discoveries.

What drives you and what do you want to achieve?

I am committed to contributing to the development of novel and scalable data management and analytics solutions that can further advance climate research and address societal challenges.
