WP2 - Develop community tools

Jointly develop tools that will help to realise a further reduction of numerical precision in high-resolution weather and climate models beyond the use of single precision.

Jointly tackle the challenge of portability of Earth system models to heterogeneous hardware via domain-specific languages via work on GT4Py and Psyclone.

Jointly help to design tools for performance optimisation via automated performance, energy and accuracy testing and deployment.
